Raising a puppy almost always sounds like such a good idea. After all, puppies are unbelievably cute, and they turn into our best friends who are by our side for their whole lives. What could possibly go wrong?
Well, for starters, you were already just barely hanging onto life as it was. I mean, *gestures vaguely at everything* and now you have a whole dog to take care of on top of everything else. And of course if you make any mistakes, the dog is going to go Kujo, right?
Nope. First off, all behavior is a combination of nature and nurture. That means it’s not all in how you raise them, and it’s unlikely that you can do horrific damage. But because nurture (how they’re raised) is still in the equation, there are lots of things you can do to make your puppy’s life – and by extension, your own – much easier in the long run.
So come with us while we raise our own little tater tot, puppy Violet, and watch how we strive to make puppy raising be as low-impact as possible on your daily life, while still getting the most bang for the buck that will last us all of Violet’s life and make her easy to live with for our chosen lifestyle.
